buschur cone filter vs. generic cone filter

What is special about the buschur air filter vs a regular cone filter you can get on ebay or somewhere? Is it made of a more free flowing material or have a better design? Would it be a tuning issue if one were to get a reflash who had a generic filter? Dont flame guys, Im really curious as to what makes the Buschur filter better. Thanks.

Pysically, from what I understand it says "Buschur" on it.... that being the main difference in the filter itself. I don't think the filter is sold seperately is it? From what I remember it is part of the intake pipe/filter setup. Just a way to show vendor loyalty. If yours gets gummed up it can be cleaned using a K&N cleaning kit, or you can probably replace it with a generic.

so you think the buschur filter would not be an upgrade to a filter such as this:

i was thinking about that too. it's hella cheaper and filter is a filter.

i've seen no difference using an aem or generic version of it.

well.. only difference is that some filters come oiled. most ebay generic ones don't come oiled.

I have one of the first BR filters, don't know if they have changed anything about them but mine has no reference of Buschur on it. I was able to purchase mine separately. The filter works well but looks to be rather generic.

edit: After looking at the filter offered on ebay it appears to be similar if not identical to the BR filter I have. OT has anyone tried that cheap rear strut tower bar offered for the evo by this seller?

Would be a cool find if you could come up with a quality K&N or Apexi filter that mated up to the BR intake pipe.
