Service engine soon light came on at the track?

I was at a track day event yesterday and half way through my service engine soon light comes on. The car felt fine and the oil was perfect. Everyone at the track told me dont worry about it. Anyone know what I should do? take my modified evo to Mitsubishi to see what the deal is? or take it to Turbotrix to check it? or does it just mean it needs a service.......

Take it to Autozone or a place like that, they can use their OBDII tool for you for free, tell you what the code is, then come back and tell us what the code/s is/are

I remember reading somewhere that when that light is on, the ecu is set to a safe or "limp" mode. You may want to get it fixed...

Have you had the P300 dealer reflash done yet?

^^^^^

when this light comes on from your install of a new exhaust , be aware that this has no effect on the performance of your car. its just a stupid reminder that the o2 (oxygen) sensor is finding a problem caused when you removed or did something to the stock catalytic converter.

Mine just came on this week too for the first time. I need to go get it checked but my car is running fine so I am not worried.

you're lucky? LOL!!! i have the same thing and my ses came on after a few days, as soon as i refilled the tank at the gas station. not worried about it here, i was going to put a piece of tape over it, but now it doesn't bother me anymore.

be lucky ours aren't bad. my bf's sti had a cel from his wastegate being too small and his cruise control light would flash while the cel was on. it was REALLY annoying..
