Rough idle when power equipment on

Does anyone elses idle get a little funky when their defrosters on? Sometimes it will do it when to many things are using power at 1 time., or when the fans on at a redlight.

Yeah i notice it too especially when the AC fan kicks on. I just figure it's normal when there's an addtl load.

I asked the dealer about the same thing and was told the Evo uses a different type of AC compressor since it's a high RPM engine. Supposedly this makes it noiser and gives it a rough idle. Defrost uses the compressor so that would explain your problem.

I like to know why the compressor goes on when you turn on the heat. I'm thinking about removing that relay next winter.

those parts use electricty, the more the draw, the more the alternator works, making the motor harder to turn, lowering the idle and causing a little rougher idle..

Grounding kit helps alot. If you want, pruchase a HIGH POWER Generator for your car, one that gives the same volts but more amps. That'll work.

AC takes humidity out of the air and helps to defrost.
