Get the titanium turbo from the Evo 6.5/7!
Should fit right into the Evo4.
Are you the same Deb from LancerRegister who started that "Having fun" club topic a while back?

Several companies specialize in repairing turbos. Contact them. They are usually at the back of rallye magazines.
Is the Evo 4 turbo smaller than the one from a 6? Then fit the one from a 6, or use the opportunity to get a slightly bigger one if you can afford it, like a GT 2835 from Greddy / HKS. Probably 3k though.
What does your tuner offer for 625? Doesnt sound too expensive, but watch it, it might be a turbo used for rallye that might fail soon as well.
Stop pushing your car so hard, be gentle, drive slowly... No, forget that.

Hello Girlracer!
I think you need to have one of those rebuilding companies to have a look at it. In the end everything can be rebuilt, it's just a question of cost. Otherwise Ralliart and co-ordsport are on the expensive side as everybody knows, e-mail www.takakaira.com and see which turbo they suggest, i.e. it could be that some aftermarket turbos are cheaper than the OEM one. AND more powerful

i got a replacement turbo for my montego from turbo technics when the original failed. This was a reconditioned unit, however it was impossible to see difference from a new one. All the wheels werenew as was the wastegate/exhaust housing. The price was £350 against over £1000 from Rover. I was impressed with the build quality.
Check in the Yellow pages for turbo reconditioners to find the enarest agent.
Alternative is to get an e6 one off a scrapper or from someone who has upgraded.
hh6 off the mlr had an e6 turbo spare due to his engine failure (mitsi only had a complete engine (10k ouch )).

I think Essex Turbos repair and do a ball-bearing conversion that lets the turbo spool up 500rpm earlier.Try a post on the UK site www.lancerregister.com .Note it is double r in the middle!
