Drove into the garage last night and noticed oil on the floor. Took off the plastic (all those !@#$ing plastic rivets
I wish someone would come up with something better!) and the upper line going into the oil cooler was loose. I could turn the bolt by hand
. There was quite a bit of oil all the way down almost to the downpipe but I fugured it was all a splashover from the oil cooler leak - I hope.
I tightened the banjo bolt (had to use a 31/32 socket which kinda fit, but I figure the actual bolt is likely metric, either 20 or 21mm), cleaned up all excess oil I could get to and added about 3/4 of a quart of oil.
Anybody else have a similar problem? Any recommendations?
Mine is an '03 VIII with about 28k miles. Am I in store for more surprises? Mine is a lightly modified daily driver. Time to unload? Dealer/Stealer already gave me greif while doing a fan recall for having an aftermarket exhaust and a canister attached to the intake (actually an oil catch can
- makes me feel really confident that the incompetent idiots this dealer employs can fix anything - NOT! I will never buy a mainstream
product - ever!)

it came loose.. things happen.. if you have a weekend go over every bolt you can find... it will help you find any more pos. probs, and give you 1 hell of a good piece of mind... no need to get rid cause its a high maint. car.. unless you have the money to do so..
