Someone said that the first batch was defective, dunno if that's true. I never did get mine working right.
Got more vacuum tubing just now - LAST one in the parts store, the guy was headed for the door to lock it.
Anyway, installed, VERY short test run, packing up all parts and tools in the car in case I have to swap back, no stalling evident yet but that "fluttering" may be happening when it releases pressure.
I have the knob rather near the top of the valve housing and still have no idea whether that means recirc or VTA ...
Headed out again and will be driving around tomorrow. I'll try to see what's up. Worst case I have a great DSM expert to consult. At least it's driveable so far. My stock BOV was leaking at well < 10psi ...

Sorry for the sarcasm, but I had a pretty rotten experience. I sincerely hope that yours works out better for you.
Regards
I appreciate your good wishes.
Have tried it today w/the knob almost all the way down and there is a "fluttering" of sorts when lifting off the throttle or coasting and applying light throttle. It sounds like a misfire, really (3" TBE, no cat), in the exhaust. So it must have some effect all the way to the exhaust?
In order to try to get rid of that I got the knob adjusted all the way down. Same issue, if not more distinct. RPM drop from aggressive throttle was a bit harsh.
Adjusted the screw up quite a bit, further from all the way down than my first attempt and this "fluttering" was as distinct but an RMP drop seemed harsher - nearly stalled out.
Now, for all I know, temp and other conditions were different enough through the day that they made a difference in all this half-assed testing. But I thought that with the screw partially up I had better results than with it all the way tightened down or very loose.
Key questions:
Does ANYONE ELSE have this BOV/BPV installed and is happy with it?
WHY is the "first generation" discontinued? Was the flaw in some really a flaw in all but just not everyone complained? What is being "fixed" in the 2nd generation???
Tomorrow I'll put the screw down further closer to where I had it first today and see if I get the more harsh reactions. It doesn't look good, folks. I'll call AP tomorrow for advice and then whom I ordered it from for possible return/replacement for another brand - like the APS I thought I was ordering (yeah, I know, ignorant me)...
