AMS 2.3L or RNR 2.4L stroker ?

I have a couple ?????s.....

With a stroker and a gt35r,what tranny would you rather have-MR 6spd or GSR 5spd

Also....

Which stroker kit would you choose????AMS 2.3L or RNR 2.4L....Both kits would be using the AMS gt35r with alky injection.....

Your comments would be greatly appreciated......

Thx.....

Hi! I would rather you go for this. Get a complete JUN 2.2L race engine and combine it with an HKS GT3240 turbo and an APEXi Intercooler. With did that set-up on an Evo 5 here and it had 700+whp and did the quartermile in 9.8secs at 2.5 bar only, no nitrous. And not to waste your power, go for a 6-speed tranny. This Evo 5 can be also used as a normal street car.

Or try going for a Tomei complete engine and fit it with an Innovative Dual Ball Bearing Turbo. I would rather suggest the JUN engine though. Try the JUN stroker kit.

Thumbs up

go with whichever kit uses the 4G64 block. if you can drive you don't need the extra gear...

As far as a transmission for a stroker kit, either one will be fine. Even though the MR has an extra gear, the gearing on the 6-speed is pretty short so your not gonna really gain anything except for an extra overdrive gear. Neither one is stronger than the other, or so ive heard.

For stroker kits, i'd recommend the AMS kit.....they make really high-quality parts and they definitely know their stuff. Haven't heard much about the RNR stroker kit, so i couldn't give u my opinion of it. There's a video clip flying around on the boards of an EVO with an AMS stroker kit and an AMS GT35R turbo kit that is smoking cobras and LS1 camaros, so try to find that and im sure you'll be impressed! Good luck man!

We are the only ones using the 4G64 block which we think is a lot better choice.

There are a bunch of reasons to choose the 64 block over a stroked 63 block. The biggest being the 6mm higher deck.

For straight line racing 5 speed is going to be faster than a 6, generally. (Less time shifting = more time in gears.)

does RNR even do any road racing? im always skeptical of tuners that don't b/c only then can you really test the reliability. not everyone lives their lives a quartermile at a time

By nature a 5speed is going to be strong than a 6speed because the gears are thicker.

One of the best stroker kits available IMO.

Our personal shop car hasn't been on the road course yet, but we have several cars that are serious road racers. Have you seen the recent article in D-SPORT?
