Just tuned sunday night: Me hks 272s, other guy gsc 272/264

3rd gear pulls 40-80 = me (hks 272s) win by 2 cars

I don't get these guys who say using a 272 on the intake and then a 264 on the exhaust, you need a BIG cam for the exhaust, you are just choking it. If you must stagger because you are afraid of a lopy idle, get a 264 intake ( this keeps your idle vaccum close to stock and therefore great idle) and a 272 exhaust for the topend.

That may be the best setup for the stock turbo, 264 intake, 272 exhaust. if you go 272 intake you suck in all this air but you chock off teh exhaust with a 264, just a waste IMHO.

I have 272's, car MOVES, just get them.

With your 272's are you running stock cam gears? cause with the 272/264 setup you can with no issues and I hear the 272/272 has problems without the gears. thanks, im undecided

I do not run cam gears, dont trust them, I run 272's and tehy are fine.

Again I think it is stupid to run a 272 intake (which would fuc up your idle anyway without tuning) and then a smaller 264 exhaust cam which would choke up yoru flow.

Either get 264/264 (stock turbo this is fine, if you use a larger turbo they will still work but you will be missing power potential)

264-272 (it'll give you the same idle but have slightly better topend)

272-272 (slightly lopy idle with tuning, bad *** WOT pull plus if you upgrade a turbo you will be fine)

280's??? Not to sure, David Buschur says that they add power on a stock turbo, IDK how because teh stock turbo is maxed out anyway BUT It would DEF make your EGT's even colder so I Guess it is possible, these tuned with a large turbo, wow, your car will be LOUD AS HELL too.......

Get 272's or 280's

You need to get a 3.0 DP man, get one In fact if you get rid of taht cat along with it, you will have even more torque, sooner.

280's are a waste they only make more power above 7800 so whats the point.

OK HKS THIS HKS that but I still hear that GSC is making 10+ More HP with a tune and they are cheaper! I Vote GSC

I bought HKS 264/272 combo. Everybody talks about how the GSC cams are soo much less expensive than the HKS setup, but I got my HKS cams from a vendor on this site running a normal special for $518 shipped.

For $20, I'll take the proven reliability of the HKS over the promising, yet still unproven, GSC cams. I'm interested to see what people have to say when they pop their valve covers off again after some miles have been put on them...

It's all in the Tune, I bet the GSC and the HKS are identical, either one is fine.

what kind of tuning are you talking about? will dyno flash work? Im not worried about idle as long as it does not stall

I am flashed, I never stall with 272's.

To the Guy who saud that 280's only add power above 7800, Dave Buschur said it added power across the board.
