Installed cams. Need help!!

I installed my cams today, took a lot of time and made sure that I did everything right. Put it all back together and then started car... No problems sound great no CEL or anything. I took it for a spin and drove it for like a half an hour, no problems. Then my service engine soon light came on?! I checked it and I got a cam shaft angle sensor error. Did I screw something up, or did i not put the sensor on right. Is this normal? Would a flash fix it? Sorry for all of the questions, just need help. Oh yeah, and the cams were HKS 264/272. Thanks.

you chould find out why its throwing a CEL but if its running good, odds are you just need a reflash.

It may have thrown the code because your dynoflash is not set up for those bigger cams you just put in. You may need another flashing, I see you don't have fuel management equipment. I think that you should since you're running all that fuel to the motor. But that's my two cents.

I checked the CEL and the error was a cam shaft angle sensor error. Not sure exactly what the code was.

You might have put that sensor in 180 degrees backwards...?

the cel has nothing to do with the flash. Where are you getting this? Anyway, you probably screwed the cam angle sensor.

I think so also, it can go in 2 ways, one of which is incorrect... i bet if you turned the sensor 180 degrees it would be fine.

What they said above. Angle sensor maybe be the culprit. I installed cams on mine and no cel.

need a flash, hahaha.. take the cam sensor out check it over carefully, check the wires the plug.. and if there is no prob, try rotating it 180... but if you were 180 out now the car would not run that good...

It's not the flash, you screwed up the cam position sensor. Did you get a through the mail flash for the cams yet? I would be careful running your custom tune with the cams. Didn't you also put an intake on since the custom tune? Be careful!

I think I put the sensor in the correct position. The diagram showed the big vein on the bottom right. At a 45 degree angle. How else could I have screwed up the sensor?
