Am I running rich????????

I've had two things done to my car since my last dyno flash.
1. Buscher deluxe FMIC with the the new lower I/C pipe.
2. SSautochrome header.

I have the cheap Auto meter Air/Fuel guage and when it's floored it's all the way in the green/rich. What will happen if I keep driving it hard this way? Can I turn up the boost because I am running rich? Or should I get a mail in flash? Am I just wasting gas?
Thanks for the answers.

evos always run rich stock, those autometer gauges will always go green when u hamer it even if u have a reflash. Get a reflash too, it will help out alot.

My mods in order are:

Stock street tune by Dynoflash, 3" TBE (cat delete), HKS RS intake, Hallman MBC @21, 255 walboro fuel pump, through theMail DynoFlash, crashed, buscher deluxe FMIC with lower I/C pipe, Koyo radiator, C/F hood, SSauto chrome header.

So, would the new FMIC and Header cause me to run really rich? If I am running rich should I turn up the boost, or do I need a higher octane to do that? What could I do to becides a flash/tune to help lower it? any other mods I could do, or would I need to get some kind of EMS?

I'm triing to save up for cam shafts and the 10.5 hotside.

You shouldnt be running overly rich just from those mods. Its good to get a tune or you can get an S-AFC and do it yourself. The FMIC and manifold will not cause the car to be overly rich though. As was already stated, those gauges arent very accurate. I used to have one and no matter if I was running rich or slightly lean, it was always pegged in the green section. You should find out for sure what kind of air/fuel ratio you are running before just cranking up the boost.

Hey, deepsea, we need to get together, so I can do some logs and maybe even slap on the S-AFC to see what we can do.

A reflash will probably help, but it might not be optimum...

Those little narrow-band air/fuel gauges that have christmas lights are just ricer gauges... they really don't tell you much of anything.

you're getting narrow band reading.

get you a wideband.

I'm not sure I understand the situation. Did you have this gauge before and it didn't peg the green zone before you got the new FMIC and header, or did you just get the gauge now and you are assuming that it wouldn't have done that before?

I see that you are working with a through-the-mail Dynoflash. That flash will most likely put you in the high 10s AFR and that may be rich enough to peg that green zone.

Turning up the boost will not make you run richer unless you start running out of injector or fuel pump. The MAF will adjust to add more fuel for the additional air.

Also, there is no reason that at least the FMIC should make you run richer unless you've got a leak somewhere. If anything it will make you run leaner. I don't know about the effect of the manifold.

Anyhow, I'd spring for a wideband so you know exactly where you are.
