would a bolt on dsm turbo work for an evo?

i have done most of the bolt ons for the evo and i am looking for some more power out of a new turbo setup. i am familiar with the different turbo kits and sizes i could run but i was wondering if a turbo for a 2g eclipse or any dsm for that matter would bolt up for a somewhat direct bolt on setup. i know that the intake is on the other side but if the turbo was reversed and bolted on so that the intake fit to our side or the flange was reversed would it work? i doubt i would do a setup like this but i always wondered about it. thanks for any help

You'd need a Buschur turbo manifold to do a direct bolt-on.

so a turbo that has a flange set up for a dsm would be a close to bolt on setup if i used a buschur manifold?

The o2 housing wont work because its reversed. I doubt the oil lines are the same either. its not worth it

It wouldnt be close, It will bolt right on to the buschur mani. The stock turbo on our car is twin scroll. Basically our cars are the only ones with this setup. If u look at the factory mani, where it bolts to the turbo, there are 2 slot looking ports. Alot different than a 1st gen. Thats why a 1st gen turbo wont work unless u use an aftermarket mani/ header.

what your looking to do is basicly a Buschur turbo kit. The BR turbokit has a custom made manifold, o2 housing, oil lines, IC pipe, radiator fan included that allows you to fit a "bolt on for a DSM" style turbo on an evo8.

Buschur will also sell the O2 housing that you need. Spyderx, if you want to install that 20G then get a kit minus turbo from Buschur. Should be in the ballpark of $1200 I would think for manifold, O2, oil lines, etc.
