I personally wouldnt jump from stock to decently modded. Little by little so you get used to handling more power little by little, also keeps the fun in it for a long time( best feeling is driving your evo with a new mod).
all that stuff & they can only get 335whp on 93 octane?? what a waste. i know 3 people that tried the AEM EMS (all reputable tuners) & each one had their A/C ecu's fried by it. MoTec's M800 PRO put down 340whp on 93 octane in florida on a STOCK motor with NO mods. MoTec is used by more larger groups such as F1, WRC, Mitsubishi (FQ400), Gymkhana, DTM, etc... seems like a better unit than AEM to me if ALL THOSE groups use it.
any company (importnation) that sells HP is obviously missing the boat. they should be selling the ease of use of products & packages that make a customer's car more enjoyable & complete. a better selling point might be "we can build you an FQ400 for 1/3 the price". i bet they would have more business. point is, do your research!

I agree with this, except it's a ***** to tune it for every little thing you add. But that's also 1/2 the fun
This isn't really that dramatic of an upgrade, though, as it's basically Exhaust, intake, cam gears and AEM. You could still add cams, intercooler + piping, turbo, tons more stuff and with the EMS (and a friend who can tune) you could really make it work... I agree it's a bit much for a noob, but it's a pretty good base.
