Heres the steps you need to do from here:
1. Pray to god your dealership covers it.
2. Pray some more.
3. Run your friend over.
4. Reverse.
5. Pray some more.
6. Go to a dealer that you have heard that has fairly decent service.

My car also makes a whining noise in 1st 2nd gear but it's mainly noitcable now when its real cold out side and when the car first starts running and its not warmed up. Once my car warms up the whining disappears and is only audible in 1st gear. I think you are sweating this expereince far too much original poster. I understand they say break the car in.....but one bad decision doesn't mean the car is destroyed or damaged resulted to the trnnie or TCASE. If you are still worried....take the car to MItsu already.....
Although you need to adjust your driving habits seriously! Please take the advice which was given to you here regarding downshifting. DO NOT LET ANYONE DRIVE YOUR CAR....IT'S NOT THIER CAR....SO WHY THE F*** DO THEY CARE IF THEY DESTROY WHAT THEY AREN'T PAYINg FOR........
