Do intercooler pipes provide any real gain?

Would the Helix intercooler hard pipe kit yield any noticeable gain with my modifications? I've got a 3 inch TBE, Hallman MBC installed and am about ready to order a dynoflash mail-in tune. I'm looking for something in the $300 - 400 range that will increase power before I throw a tune at the car. Any suggestions?

I noticed spool up was quicker, but I'd say spring for the extra $100 and get cams, and you'll notice a lot more of a difference.

Walbro 255 fuel pump. Injectors and head bolts would let you turn up the boost even more. Cams are always a great idea too.

OK, If I went with HKS 264's ($550 - 600):

1) would a mail in flash be sufficient (the closest 4-wheel dyno is ~700 miles away)?

2) would I have a chance of passing emissions?

3) how many people have installed their own cams? How difficult is it?

Thanks again for the input!

you don't need a flash right away, I've had mine in for about a month and a half, and I'm getting them tuned tomorrow night, but there hasn't been a single issue. Also, using the evomoto website and about 6 hours later, the cam install wasn't too hard. But this is also coming from someone who has always done his own installs. I'd say the average "car person" wouldn't have any problems with it. As for the emissions thing, I don't think there really have been any problems, after you do a mail in flash, that will lean you out a bit, and should make it all fine. The moral of this long post....you should get cams

healthynine: did you see a substantial increase in midrange power with the 264's (I assume you have 264's)... or was the gain almost entirely at the top of the tac?

I actually put in 272/264s. I was really happy with them for mid range, but recently put in my boost controller, and now since boost taper is eliminated, the top end pull is so much better. I think you'll notice a good power increase with almost any setup you decide on.
