Whenyou remove the "restrictor" from the hydralic line you have to slow your clutch release otherwise the pressure plate can reingage the clutch plate with a sudden bang. Great stuff for racing not so good on the street. The restrictor, as you call it, is there to slow and cushion reingagement.

I used to have this problem, that's because my left foot is stepping on the clutch too fast without letting the gas out all the way before stepping on the clutch. Wait untile your foot is off the gas first before attempting to step on the clutch. This is just my way of dealing with this problem. Good luck.

to make sure it's the "dumped clutch" effect, try this... while driving and getting ready to shift gears, let off on the gas, pressed down on the clutch, and shift. now, before you let off on the clutch, give it some gas so that your rev is a 1k or 2k above idle and then as fast as you can, let off on the clutch. if you get a slight bog with a sledgehammer thud sound, it's the as i stated. it's the same thing that happens when you try to dump your clutch for a launch. try reving your car at launch above 3k, and then let off on the clutch. quite a big bog and a loud bang, and then your car slowly comes to life.

and again, if this isn't the case, then i have no clue how the motor mounts would play into this. and i believe you have a 2.3l... not 4.3l.

oops! what was i thinking???

this is how you get the dumped clutch effect...

do everything as though you were gonna shift. when you finally step on the clutch and shift gears, instead of slowly rleasing the clutch and then gassing, just let go of the clutch as fast as possible. you'll hear the bang for sure, and then you can gas if you'd like.

i haven't done this for a while because i came to the conclusion that it wasn't good for her...
