only 16 psi?

only 16 psi?

ok i just installed my autometer boost gauge and it idils at 20 vac but it spikes at 16 psi boost and then settles down to 12 psi boost i know this is not right everything is stock except for a aem intake that the dude i got the evo had installed when he had it mind you this is my first boosted car so take it easy one me guys thanks in advance

he probably had a boost controller in it before and returned it back to stock, leaving out the stock boost line with the pill in it. Thats probably why your only getting 16 psi of boost

no my friend did not work on the engine at all just the intake that a shop installed and it seams to run real rich black soot on the bumper edges after a few days of driving hard but my best 1/8 mile was a 8.98 i know it can be better

probably a closer shop near you, but here's one in torrance (they specialize in WRX, STi, and EVO):

Is it connected to the correct line? also as Scott88vr6 said, your gauge may be off .... Also EVOs run rich stock ....

I second this one. My autometer guage reads about 1 psi high all across the range. It has since day one. Yours might be reading 2-3 psi low. If you tested it on a hot day, then you were getting 19psi tapering to 15-16 psi which is normal.

While off, does the gauge zero correctly?
