Glad it worked out. It takes a while to get people to actually LISTEN and believe that it's something so simple as the snorkel, but once people listen, it usually works out just fine.

It's kinda funny now looking back at how forum4pl said, "Oh yeah, the airbox is fastened down." It's like the word "snorkel" is a foreign term to most people or something, haha.

Eh? There's a fastener... and a snorkel?
You guys talkin about the ram air thingy? If so I didnt know there was a fastener, just those 2 plastic bolts that held it in place.

Ahh i get it, you guys are talking about bolting the ram air down, so it doesnt go up.

that is SOOOO freaking funny. I had the same problem while trying to tune on the wideband last night....I had no idea what i had done, but i was friggin worried. I went home, popped the hood and started looking...nothign wrong. Snorkle DID NOT even cross my mind, but iwth all the new things ive been doing, i haven't fastened itback down because i have ot take it off all the time.

But, i too would see it bouce around 20psi(some lower, some higher) then at about 6k drop strait to 10psi.

I was like, how do i even describe that...and i just clicked this thread for the heck of it and voila, MY ANSWER!

btw, mine was fine again this morning without the snorkle bolted down....but i assumed it was ECU problem, as i reset the ecu when i got home last night.

Uh, no, that's not the problem. Read the rest of the thread man. Your stock BOV did not leak like a ****...it just leaked normally like all other stock BOVs, which all open up around 13psi.

The "2 plastic bolts" you are referring to ARE the fasteners...same thing.

These things are reusable, so there's no reason to worry about putting them in and out when making lots of changes under the hood. It takes mere seconds to manipulate them once you know how to do it. My problem was that I assumed they were one-use, so I broke them out and then didn't bother replacing them. It wasn't until MadMsheen showed me how to use them that I found my problem...

i know how to use them, but i lost the stockers...and the replacements i bought SUCK *****. once you put them in, they take 10 minutes to get out...im not kidding.

push the nice little button down as far as it will go, that MFer won't come out. i need to get some different ones.

You missed my suggestion, then. Just go snag some out of the trunk lining. There's a bunch back there that aren't even needed. You can just replace the ones in the trunk with the replacements you bought, then use the factory ones on the snorkel for quick and easy replacement.
