Quote: I agree... I would toss 6HP on my car and have it shift perfect anyday. Think about it... 6 HP would give you... well nothing really. The ability to shift perfect is worth much more than 6HP. I am still quite sure that anything that is a true synthetic should not be used in the tranny. Too 'slippery' for the synchro's from what I hear.

And dont make fun of the guy and call him a bad driver because he doesnt think the oils will give him HP.. I am sure he figured a tiny insignificant amount is to be had just nothing worth writing home about. Most people say that any HP under 10 is pretty much impossible to 'feel' with a butt dyno and i agree. By removing the air filter and intake and running straight turbo on my friends DSM we gained around 10hp and did not feel any difference... just made the intake sound cool as hell. But it did gain some HP that we couldn't feel at all.

Anyways I just made this thread so people know it is worth changing thier oil to this stuff because it made a MUCH larger difference than i could have imagined. It not only makes shifts smoother but makes the shifter move around much easier and into gears much easier.

And about changing it every 5k miles... it depends on your driving style i suppose. 5k miles of abuse I think ANY oil should be changed in the car. Not mainly because the oil breaks down but more so because of any small metal shavings/powder that build up on the plug should be removed to it can catch more of it for ya instead of having it float around in there. Its not very expensive and doesnt take much time to do (Especially if you are changing your oil anyways). I mean $10 more every other oil change to be sure that your tranny will work good for ya... seems like a decent deal to me.
whatever floats your boat. extra hp always shows up in the laptimes. bg synchroshift sounds great for someone who has an arm injury and can't shift properly.

Quote: You drag racers may want to swap something a little "meatier" in on race day. Even though I think Syncromesh is the SHlT for daily driving the car, I think it might be a little thin for crashing the gears down the strip.
So this fluid wouldnt be good if i race alot? Whats a lot thicker thats not stock for racing?

Quote: i probably shouldn't tell you this because i don't want to give competitors an advantage but you sound so dumb i doubt you have much driving ability. a fully synthetic powertrain, engine, trans and diffs will have at least a 1% wheel hp advantage over a car with conventional oils. do the math.... if you can.
HA...please....you MAY get a .5% out of your motor but the others....please.

besides, even if it were true i would love to eat up my syncros for an extra 1hp.....i could take a **** before i got in the car and lose three pounds and it would have more significance on how the car performs

I'm saying that it is a little "thinner" and "may" offer less protection than others for those of you banging the hell out of the gears... but I still love the stuff.

In cold weather, the difference between synthetic an non-synthetic oils regarding power loss goes up to a point where in several vehicles I have driven I can actually tell a power difference from the diver's seat - this is not even with a lower viscosity product as some of the synthetics are. This is especially noticeable in an all wheel drive vehicle.
