Oh and after that long drawn out thread and testing this myself the retainer to seal clearance is minimal. The intake side IMO will in fact touch the seal.

Revving to 8K shouldn't warrant new valvetrain on your car -even with the 272's. DSMer's do it all the time with a bone stock head.

I have revved mine several times to 8K and other than the 272's, my head is bone stock on my 91 Eagle.
