3 S.M.A.R.T. ways to make more power with more safely
my bung on my exhaust is around 10:00.....if the factory sensor is at 9:00....wouldn't that mean it should be ok since the stock sensor don't wear out real fast? Or do widebande sensors crap out faster?

Oh well... no SMART for me...
Looks like there will be no WR/SMART numbers from me... I have no interest in yanking out my PLX wideband and paying for the Innovative LC-1 wideband Vishnu chooses to use. I was told today that they will not sell SMART without their wideband. Therefore I won't be using it.
Good luck to the rest of you... maybe in the future they will "loosen up" and let those in that have no need for the active fueling... or support other customers choices in widebands.

FWIW, the SMART fuel features rely on a bit of signal processing (sample rate adjustments) that is done inside the wideband unit. We chose the Innovate LC-1 wideband because it does just this. I have also calibrated our whole SMART fuel tables around the unique voltage calibrations provided in Output #2 of the Innotive LC-1 unit.
It is possible that the SMART system can be successfully adapted to another wideband unit (as long as it offers simple sampling rate adjustments). It would take some time revising the SMART table to compensate for the differences in output calibrations. Unfortunately, we don't have a lot of that commodity right now. This is why, for the time being, we will not support or sell the SMART system if it is used with a wideband of another than the one it is designed to be used with.
When time permits, I do hope to give the users the tools to adapt the system to whatever wideband they want to use. But this is not now. We want the release of the SMART system to be successful and as trouble-free as possible. Unfortunately, this means minimizing as many variables as possible.
I hope everyone understands...

Point was that I was not going to use the SMART fuel tables at all... only the active timing. Therefore I wasn't trying to use SMART with the PLX (or any other wideband for that matter), but use it without altogether.
My fuel tables will be safe, and "close enough" as tuned. The active timing is where the power/safety is at... and that is where my focus is.
PS, not to mention that one of the most important log-able features missing in the Xede is the ability to log knock count... I could have done a bang up job "road tuning" with the PLX had the Xede had this feature in the first place. Through my own ignorance, I bought the Xede believing (not looking far enough into it) that it initially did log knock... well shame on me for that one.
