775whp, no nitrous
Stripped, trailered in beater Camaro with built 412cid and a 400 shot just does'nt seem that fast anymore does it. Technology catches up. PSI is the replacement for displacement!!!
IMO, the reason is reliability. The wrist pin sits very high in a stroker as well as the ringland. Most of the very high HP motors, sans Magnus use a 2.0. Bushcur did, Turbotrix, AMS, etc etc.
The lag is made up for with Max rpm strokers max RPM are usually 8K while the 2.0 can rev to 9K and a few go to 9.5K.
Shep went a whole season on his built 2.0 why mess with success?

I want to see pics of that engine bay! I have thought about it when the LR 2.4 is done, but the snail alone is like 2500. That is some surprising good spool for this monster. Did you guys retard timing and lean it out out of boost?
If they plan to competitively drag race this car, the 2.0 will result in a lower weight penalty. A lighter car will go faster, and if you look in the rulebook, the weight penalty for that extra .3L of displacement adds more weight than the .3L allows power. Power is directly related to RPM, since the stroker can't ultimately rev as high as a 2.0, the 2.0 can make the same power at higher RPMs than the stroker would at lower RPMs. Same power with less weight = faster.

In the case of a 42R you really want to be able to take this thing High in the RPM's to really take advantage of the turbo. Martin Decided to go with the 2.0 so he could "rev the ****" our of it. LOL it seems to be working. We all are very intelligent here when it comes to the cars we work on but when Martin is in the zone you just sit back shut up and hold on.
The video will be up very shortly here today. Ill post it in here and in our forum
