Clutch pedal problem
Clutch pedal problem
24k miles on stock clutch and for some reason over the past two weeks I've had to push the pedal practically into the firewall just to get it to start. Once it starts the clutch seems fine and it engages about midway through pedal travel. I haven't noticed any slip but with the mileage and the reputation of the OEM clutch I know it's about the time for a replacement.
My main concern right now is getting somewhere and being unable to start the car. It's taking up to a half dozen tries with my big toe planting the pedal to the firewall just to get it started. Any suggestions?

Is the car not turning over? If that's the case, you need to examine the switch on the clutch pedal to see if it needs adjustment or replacement. It has nothing to do with the clutch itself.

Yeah it looks like a trip to the dealer is in order. Thankfully, the car has no mods yet so they shouldn't give me any bs. I have had the pedal adjusted twice since new so they know there have been issues before.
Thanks for the replies.
