Ok here is the story i bring my car in to the dealership to fix the 5th gear grind and i just got it back yesterday, so now the 5th gear grind is gone but 2nd and 3rd are noticeably more notchy feeling, but thats a different topic. here is the problem. When i got the car back under short acceleration in traffic i started to hear a knock, its not as bad now as it was at first but i still hear the knock once in a while, it wasnt there before, also once when turning then accelerating i heard the knock in the back then a pop in the front. any ideas?


Problem 2 is i was looking at my boost gauge, yesterday on the freeway, under acceleration and noticed it was spiking to god knows where and settling at like 23-25 lbs before i brought it in it was only going up to 20-21 and didnt spike. i was on the freeway accelerating watching it spike to see how the gauge was reading and when i got into 4th i heard a sound like the blow off and it felt like the valve blew off where it lost power, it wasnt an ic hose or anything cuz ive had that happen before it felt the same but the car was fine after. The dealership reset my ecu by taking off the battery which i never did when i installed my downpipe and highflow cat. so i was wondering if it could be because of it being untuned for the downpipe, cat, and catback and k&n typhoon. only time it got close to doing this before is when i installed my k&n it would spike to 24 and settle at 19, when i took the intake pipe off and put the stock rubber one back on but left the filter the spiking went away. so would a flash be able to fix the overboost spike? or could it be another problem altogether?

my mods are k&n filter, downpipe, highflow cat, greddy evo II exhaust, aps blow off valve, my boost gauge is part of the omori gauge package

any help would be appreciated.

 

It may just be because its not tuned. Obviously your car is breathing a lot better with those mods. I have heard of cars spiking and hitting the fuel cut with those mods. When I first did my P2 I was hitting fuel cut and it felt like you mentioned, like a hose blew off or something. I took it back and they played with it a bit and I no longer have the problem. I would definietly get it tuned for those mods, its gonna run better and you'll make more power.

 

i guess the fuel cut would be the same as letting off the gas so it would blow off. when i hit fuel cut before i didnt hear the blow off so it confused me. i was going to get it tuned but al kept moving his so cal trip then i didnt know if i would have it back in time when it went in for the 5th gear synchro. now i dont know when the so cali trip is

 

also i noticed that the turbo starts spolling before 2500 and will hit the boost spike by 3000 and sit there. is this normal? is it just a tuning problem?
