Do you think this thing will flow as much as the AMS Tubular header?

the answer is no. But.... you will be supriesed to find out the stock mani is not very restrictive at all. I would prob go the stage 2 route if I didnt think the full-race mani was so damn sexy..

The ams mani is proven to flow great and there for a good reason why they spool so wickedly fast.

But does this adapter piece look like it will flow properly? It looks very restrictive because it's just some pieces welded together. Keeping the stock manifold would be nice.

well, I think if it is making 404whp on a Dynodynamics dyno, then its flowing properly.

I'll be ordering one soon. 400 to the wheels is just right for a daily driver 100% pump gas car.

There's been a good deal of computer modeling put into that collar. Both on the turbine inlet and the wastetage discharge. So much that I can promise that it controls boost perfectly and does not pose any type of measurable restriction. At least at the output levels supported by the 3071 and GT30R turbochargers. We have not tested it with a GT35R yet though. Mostly because we dont recommend them on street cars in most applications (except for hardcore drag/highway racers, of course.) The stock exhaust manifold would the most restrictive portion of the system but we've been happy to report that it does not pose any significant restriction up to the limits of the GT30R. On a GT35R, I would expect the limits of the stock manifold to show itself. For such applications, the tubular option is much advised

Cheers,
shiv

I just showed it to my buddy who builds race cars and he says that thing is a hack. It's supposed to have so bends a smoothness to it, otherwise all the exhaust coming out of the manifold will be jumbo'ed up into the corner of the can looking pipe. Do you have dyno graphs so I can prove him wrong?

Multiple pump gas records and the same power levels as tubular manifolds with the same turbo. Im sure every race car builder has opinions. Your buddy ever build an EVO? We work closely with the best in the business and along with the powercharts the argument is a mute point.

Jerry Knutson @ Henderson Racing in Las Vegas, maybe you've heard of him? He just built a ss tubular manifold for my friend Chris's 1G eclipse and made almost 590 hp on gt35r and 44mm wastegate. He just ran 10.6 on the quarter his first time out with the setup and I was looking to do the same with my car but he doesn't have the time to build me a maniofld. I definitely want something that will spool fast because his is a little laggy in the street but makes it up with a 9000 rpm redline. I only want to rev mine til 7500.

hmmm...will there ever be an option to do a GT35R with the collar setup? I do more highway/ play type stuff, so that would probably be the option i would be looking to go.

401 hp on a dyno dynamics is 560 at the crank. That's with a 30R and .70 AR on 107 octane stock internals and intercooler.

On c 16 I'm sure it could match Henderson's 590 hp. Maybe you should ask Jerry if he's heard of Vishnu.

I just registered about finding about the board. I'm just excited and just researching the different options and want some opinions from everybody. I just got a quote for the AMS setup also and it's a nice setup but I want to work with somone closer in Cali. Gotta spend my money while I have it and make the car fast.
