seth your turbo is the ball bearing gt-35r right?? not just the 61mm standard bearing?? that seems slower than i expected.. if your running it off the wastegate spring it spools slower, run it off your aem or mbc & it will spool faster.

the manual boost controller is hooked up. it is just screwed all the way out so it effectively out of the loop.

are you saying that i should turn the boost up a hair so the the boost controller is regulating boost?

it seems if you run with the boost control it will have faster spool up because it controls the wastegate better. with the wastegate working the boost control it slowly opens so it slows the spool up process.

Isnt power output more important than boost? Id like to see a stock turbo vs gt35r in a roll on in the same gear. And see when the 35r starts to pull on the stocker.

The stock motor part does not help or hinder running anything powerwise... most people build motors to handle the power, not make more. The 'stock' ECU thing is kinda becoming a joke.... what exactly does stock mean? You have bigger injectors, the 'stock' ECU will not handle those. You are using an AFC to lean it out, therefore, it is not stock anymore. Its the same with reflashed cars... its not a stock ECU anymore, it is a stock ECU that has been modified. I guess my car I could say has the stock ECU... my car still uses the stock ECU.. I just modify the timing and fuel tables alot.

I'll add my spool up data to this old azz thread now that I have the 35r installed. I'm running a standard RNR 8gauge manifold with the WG re-routed back into the DP. Currently boost is set at only 18psi because I'm still tuning but I can feel a pretty big rush from about 4k up. I can't wait till I get it tuned to 24psi.

Incase thats too hard to read :

RPM - boost
3120 - 1.7
3540 - 3.46
4010 - 6.29
4560 - 10.84
5070 - 14.33
5520 - 16.67
6010 - 17.60
6530 - 17.66

I started the pull @ 2500RPM. Even though the MBC is set to 18psi it doesn't reach that in 2nd gear I'm guessing because there isn't enough load on the engine.

I'm really suprised how fast the spoolup is, I was expecting much much worse. There is a huge difference between 10psi on a 16g and 10psi on a 35r, I can't wait until I get up to 24psi.

According to some quick calcs with the 1000cc injectors I'm using I should be about to push around 26psi safely on pump gas alone...

Give us a third or a fourth gear pull and log when you hit 20psi. Mmkay.?

I'm really glad you resurrected this thread, it was one of my favorites.

THe reason I posted a 2nd gear log is because thats what the majority of logs in this post are from.

I'll be back out tomorrow doing more tuning so 3rd & 4th shouldn't be an issue, hopefully 20psi wont be either.

Did more tuning tonight as promissed. I'm taking it real slow so I'm only up to 19ish psi but its getting there. I still can't believe how little lag there is.

I did 2nd, 3rd, & 4th gear logs. All on the same level stretch of road. I think the car is spooling pretty quick compared to other logs posted in this thread.

2nd gear below:

3rd gear below:

4th gear below:

Pretty much how my log looks. I don't know how people get full boost in 3rd by 4k.
