just check the fuse to the ecu.. .. you're right about the power to ecu

I'm pretty sure that was it, I drove all day and night, and no problem.

Ok, just to update. It turns out I had the exact same problem. 20A fuse was blown (how I missed it the first time, I'll never know) which seemed to have been caused by the wires on my o2 sensor rubbing on the floor board.
