safe, but waste of money. not gonna see any gains, and will probably LOSE power spraying co2....its not combustable

spend your money elsewhere

unless you have big holes in your intercooler, combustibility doesn't really matter. this kit is designed to cool the heat exchangers on the I/C to bring your intake charge temps down.

ive seen some subaru owners around here home-make units with a bit more converage and they got pretty crazy gains on the dyno. i tried to find the thread on NASIOC but no luck.

either way...cooling the I/C seems like it would lower charge temps but a better bang-for-the-buck, albeit less safe, solution would be a water/meth cooling mist setup.

i believe that another nitrous company makes a cooling bar with more converage but i forget if it's Zex or NOS or someone else.

If you cool the i/c without accidentally ingesting the co2 through the engine's intake then you will be ok. I personally would like to see the long term effects of such drastic cooling of a hot intercooler, just to satisfy my curiosity

This has been gone over already 4-5 times in this area. The co2 and n2o are both "safe" to spray on the intercooler, but neither will show as significant gains as advertized. If any of the co2 makes it through the ic and radiator and into the area that your air filter ingests from, it will cause ignition missfires and a major LOSS of power. If using nitrous oxide and this happens, your AF ratio will go leaner and you will see some power change (that is not at all safe!)

For about the same price of a co2 or n2o IC sprayer, you should just get a single fogger wet nitrous kit and spray a 35-50shot into the engine. This will make far better power gains, and is completely safe.

If you want proof and actual performance for your $500, search the Evo Engine and Drivetrain section for the word nitrous, my previous posts are in there with real world results, as well as many others with usefull info.

Easy way to test it, spray it with nitrous, if it makes power, swap it for co2, if it doesn't make power and you car bogs, your ingesting the substance into the intake.

david buschur did this and that was his conclusion. the gains were from ingesting nitrous in the air intake.

We tested the Cryo CO2 IC sprayer and the "charge cooler" IC pipe thing with the bulb in it. At about 385 whp, they made ZERO additional HP.

Maybe meth/alky injection would be a better investment?

100% better. Atleast a 30whp gain over reg 93 octane on the stock turbo.
