Well some ppl are very hard-headed and buy 272's instead of 264's, then btch about my (woops I ment "THERE") ideal so they buy cam gears to help the ideal out -4/-1.5 did help out my ideal/rpm/vacume . "if I could do it again" it would be 264's for me with NO gears and extra $200 in my pocket

I would recommend springs/retainers for the RPM limits you asked about.

I also do NOT like cam gears. Yes, you can probably smooth out the idle with them and they can shift the horsepower/torque numbers around, but that is all they are doing, shifting the numbers around. I feel the best way to run the HKS cams is at 0-0.

Good luck,

Hey David,

I 100% agree with you on the HKS cam gear settings. HKS will even tell you the same thing. Cam gears are made to smooth out idle or move the power band around, or in some cases you can use them on the stock cams to get more power on the top end.

Is your website correct that all the buschur flashes come with a 8500 RPM rev limit? Or is that just for the higher stages that have head work? If they all dont come with the 8500 RPM limit, what do the lower stage flashes come with for a rev limit?

Thanks
Brian

We can flash the ECU anyway you like and put the revlimiter anywhere you like. That's not a generic answer, you request it and we'll do it

272/272 are the only way to fly, unless you have to have an idle like a Honda Civic. I've never had 272s stall/throw a CEL when used with a good flash. Yes there is a lope, but it is some what dear to me as I like the exhaust note with it.

Back on topic, the net is littered with "failed cam gear" posts (mostly from the Honda world as there are just a hell of a lot more of them)... now has anyone in the Evo community had a failure yet, I don't know. None of my customers, but then again, I talk most of them out of the gears.
