ACT clutch & syncros!!
I haven't seen the disc yet, but I plan on going by the dealership today to take a look. The clutch was installed by a different dealership in January. As far as I know it was set up correctly.
that seems really thin...but again, I would request that you go and see the disc. one of the dealerships that I had replace my tcase told me that i needed a new clutch and flywheel (this was at 14K) and that since my tranny was out the only thing I had to pay for was the parts....my answer was no. well guess how many miles i still have on the clutch they told me was bad.....47K....haha....they are LIARS
I'm on my way over right now. Like I said earlier, I never EVER felt any slippage prior to the tranny fix. I was getting some serious grind going into 4th gear though. I've read the ACT can be tough on your syncros. Is there an adjustment you can do to the clutch that will keep it from eating syncros?
Okay, I checked out the clutch. It's torched. It's worn all the way down to the rivets like the dealership said. I'm tempted to go with the OEM clutch. I'm a little concerned that my car puts out too much power for the OEM. Can anyone tell me if the OEM clutch will stand up to 340 - 350-ish whp?
I decided that the OEM might be the best option for me because my car is used as a daily driver. My commute is 70 miles round trip and I spend a lot of time in traffic. The softer pressure plate will be nicer than the ACT's stiffy. I also read some disturbing things concerning multi disc clutches and the "harmonics" and other noises they produce.
I guess I'll call the 8000 miles I got out of the ACT a learning experience. I'm hoping the OEM will last me a little longer. I think one of the issues against me is the 110 degree temps we've got in AZ right now. Perhaps these high temps exacerbated the heat on the discs.

I gotta see these parts though. Regardless of what you decide to do, let me see the parts (or photos at least). I am sure you need your car back so I don't know how much help we can be but something doesn't seem right at all.
I'll tell them I want to keep everything and will take some digital photos and email them to you. Thanks for the support. Perhaps I can salvage the ACT in the near future? If the disc is the only thing bad with it, then can't the discs just be swapped out?
