Why does whole car shake in 1st gear?

Sometimes I punch the gas more, thinking it will disappear but it shakes even more and vibrates loudly. So I let off and try again. Then after it has warmed up it doesn't happen anymore. Anybody experience this? Am I hurting anything? Thanks for any input.

This is caused by uneven smearing of the flywheel and pressure plate friction surface. It's not good but it's really not that bad and it'll happen from doing something.....
As the clutch is engaged the clutch will grab-slip-grab-slip-grab until full engagement of the clutch. If you're nice to the clutch it'll go away after some time.

mine does the same thing and I was going to ask this question this morning.. every morning when i start up its like the clutch doesnt engage right and the whole tranny feels like its about to drop out.. i can feel it coming on and release the pedal immediately. If im very careful about double clutching between reverse and 1st gear it doesnt do it. Im really worried about the wear and tear this is putting on the transmission as i have to tip toe around this not happening every morning.
This is definately a warming up issue... it sucks cause my car is so damn loud that i cant afford to let it sit there and idle at 6am to get up to temp. I try to park on a large hill so i can just roll down without engaging the clutch to much.. once im around the block its fine.

haha, you literally have the exact same issue every morning. I can't keep my car running and wait for it to warm up because its early in the morning and neighbors would be *****ing.
