Going to the track tonight for the firts time and was wondering what boost I should
run with race gas. I'm running 23psi now on 93oct. And only going to make two runs trans is failing fourth gear grinds all the time odered new tranny, hope to brake into the 11's.. Thanx guys..

 

Are you spiking 23psi or holding it to redline? Im running 21psi right now and it holds that to redline. On race gas Im gonna run 25psi falling to roughtly 23-24psi. Should move!!

on the stock turbo? you aren't holding 23psi to redline.....not on the stock turbo...sorry.

do'nt you think you should give us some more details? if you are running strait c16, i would unhook the wastegate vac line and let her rip.

maybe 2 gallons of pump the rest c16 5 gallons or so,. and i've watched my boost guage till
red line and dosent move , greddy mechanical guage. and dont wanna risk blowing it up to
unhock wastegate kinda risky??

BUT, if you are spiking to 23psi and holding 23psi to 8k...you have the only 16g on EVOm that will do that.

22.5psi can be held to about 7600 but thats with much larger spikes(27-28psi).

But, i would run 26psi. Your tune is not gonna add timing, so the only thing you are gonna gain on is boost increase. Crank it up!

Is the 362whp on pump gas or on the whatever you're trying to do tonight (c16 at 26psi, etc)? Anyway, 362whp with a good launch and shifting is good for 11.8 at 116. I expect a 12.5 at 112, though (like Jeff).

 

No 362whp is on pump. So poss 12.0 or 11.8 I'm a good driver not first time ever at track just with this car. I had a 87 monte ss than ran 9.38 blown small block 400. Raw power but cant turn to save its life.. Thanx guys for all the info....
