Another Dead, Second Time

Well, I'm about to go onto my thrid motor on my 03 Evo, only a total of about 27K miles! First was blown for me by bad tuning, so an entire motor had to be built from scratch. This time, LOTS of good stuff was put into the block. Crower rods, Arias pistons, etc. Well, as of Sunday, I was given a GREAT birthday present. I'm heading out to Queens, out on the highway, about to get onto the LIE, and as I pull out, I down shift to 4th(about 50ish), then to third thanks to lag, and as I'm hitting boost, it felt like the turbo died on me such was the power loss...Well, fast forward a few days till this past Tuesday, I'm at Paisley Racing having the head pulled, and it's not pretty. A fecking forged piston cracked. Cracked around the bloody skirting, no explaination for it. Tune was stupid safe, no detonation marks, nothing. Seems from initial impressions, I had just a bad piston. Good luck getting any compensation out of ARaias for me on this one...This so totally sucks. Only 13K on this one, and all highway from going back and forth to Queens daily. God damn, not even 6 months!

Tom
