coolant reserve tank question

In the morning when the engine is cold I opened the radiator cap to check to see how much I coolant I have inside, it was full to the top. But my reserve tank is dry empty. Is this normal?

Checked the manual:

13.Remove the radiator cap after the engine has become cold,
and pour in coolant up to the brim. Reinstall the cap.
CAUTION
Do not overfill the reserve tank.
14.Add coolant to the reserve tank between the "FULL" and
"LOW" mark if necessary.

Sounds like you need to add some coolant/water to your overflow tank to top the system off.

And a warning from Mitsubishi:

CAUTION
Do not use alcohol or methanol anti-freeze or any engine
coolants mixed with alcohol or methanol anti-freeze. The
use of an improper anti-freeze can cause corrosion of the
aluminum components.
