Thumbs up How to get Exedy twin plate to work right

I have been having problems with my Exedy twin ceramic over the last few months. Last time out at the strip if I slipped it enought to get 1.66-1.70 60' times the clutch would not release properly ( I think the plates were slightly warping under all of the heat) when shifting and I would get blocked out of the 2-3 shift, if I didnet sllip her she would shift just fine at 8k. At this point I new something was up with the clutch, tried adjusting the pedel and she still did it. BTW, THIS WAS NOT A TRANSMISSION PROBLEM! So I ordered the short clutch rod, ss cable and put them in last weekend, all I can say is HOLY CRAP. The car has never gone into revearse so well and the pedel feel a tons better. I was never able to get the slight dragging the clutch had out of it until I did these mods all I can say is:

If you have a Exedy twin and are having any of the above problems you must do this mod

I also did all of the brass bushings and short shifter at the same time and the whole thing took less then three hours. The shifter was well worth the time, she shifts so sweet now.

Glad you got the problem fix. I thought I read it somewhere saying that the short cluch rod does nothing .

If what I got was "nothing" I will take it any day. It has never slid into reverse with the Exedy, now she is great. I was shocked at how much better it shifts now. Yea, time for the strip, I just need to run a pressure test on her and she's ready to go.

Sounds nice... thanks for the info. Did you have to remove the trans casing again to do these upgrades?

Thx.

The lancershop rod is an extender rod, so it's longer than stock. I don't see why someone would want a shorter rod.

They call it an extender rod b/c it extends the clutch travel, the rod is actually shorter then stock. I think it was $30. Lancershop.com has them along with the short shifter and brass bushing for about $100.
