To XEDE or To DynoFlash?

I am in a dilemma here. I cant decide to get a DynoFlash or to buy a used XEDE for $650. The DynoFlash would be a full custom tune at Buschur for $375. The XEDE would cost more but I like how you have the ability to add in the SMART system as well as tweaking the settings. So what should I do?! and Why?

Depends on what you want ... do you want someone to tune it for you and be done with it while saving some money?
Or
do you want a piggy back device that can change maps and gives you the ability to fine tune and add the SMART system at a later time but costing more up front?

Remember with the XEDE if you want a custom tune you will still have to pay Vishnu for it ...

Personally, I like it when there is a decent margin of safety left in the tune ... an engine pulling back timing or worse going BOOM, is not worth an extra 10WHP to me ...

very hard decision. I chose the dynoflash because I dont plan on messing with any settings (fuel.timing etc) so the cheap way while provinding identical power for me was dynoflash.

Yea... I am not sure how much I will actually be changing the settings. I mean what is required for self tuning on the XEDE?

You are like I am...what is better, easier, safer, and gives you decent power. I'm collecting a series of "devices" and then I may do a "tuning for dummies". We'll see what happens.

The Xede is not going to play well with the Buscher intake, unless you get a custom tune and a map from Vishnu. The AFR will be too lean with a standard map.
On the other hand Dynoflash already has mail-in reflashes for your ECU and for the Buscher intake as he works closely with Buscher ...
If you are not going to be changing settings then I think its obvious on what you should do ...

If you dont plan on changing things much, then you cant beat a custom tune reflash. If you plan on getting new mods here and there within the year and plan on running race gas etc. then I think the Xede is the better choice.

go dynoflash. I rather have someone who does it for a living than myself. granted vishnu can come tune it, however you still can load different maps. I would be changing stuff all the time till BOOM, no more evo.

Well if we are talking about safety, dynoflash doesn't compare to the smart system. With Smart system you can add mods and not worry about messing up ur tune unless its a bigger turbo. Also it adapts to the weather changes which dynoflash wont do. So it has its pros and cons. Remember once you get a map from Vishnu the smart system will adapt to ur car, so that means you don't have get a custom tune.

Just because dynoflash flies around and flashes as many cars as he can does not make it a better product. You got a understant R&D goes into Vishnu stuff. Also remember Shiv tunes car for a living too and race team in Speedvision.

I wasn't putting down Shiv, I was putting down myself. You (as in the person owning the evo) can change the XEDE. With dynoflash you can't, as in you can't f#ck up things. If I had an XEDE, I would be like "let's change this, let's change that" until the car wouldn't run anymore. Basically, what I am saying: if you know exactly what you are doing - XEDE all the way. If you are like me and can put on bolt on and stuff and that is it, well, my friend Dynoflash is the way to go.

Dynoflashed once and Turbotrixed once. Don't regret either one.
