cam differences...

what is the main difference between the 264s and the 272s, speaking in terms of power. and also, valve springs and retainers are not necessary but could they be used as a precaution?

264's and 272's have the same lift as the stockers so lifters/retainers are a waste of cabbage. The only diff. among the cams is their duration (where in the rpm curve they make their power)...

264's wake up in the 3,000 rpm's. 272's wake up in the 4,000 rpm's...

ok what cams should i get, i like torque, the feeling of getting pushed back into the seat.
im gonna be on a stock turbo, what cam setup should i get?
i searched and saw people saying theres dyno graph comparisons on AMS and stuff but i never got the links, if someone could find them for me thatd be great thanks!

oh yeah also, would turbo lag increase with the 272s? thanks

dang it looks like the power always falls off when going to redline, is the only way to cure that by getting a bugger turbo?

i'm also in the market for some cams... There are a lot of threads already about them, but a good portion of them are not up to date. That was a good link to that AMS website with the dyno graphs, thanks.

choice depends on your future plans. Im running 272/272 ie and woulndnt have it any other way. I do alot of drag racing and plan on running a 20g upgrade. I cant speak for the other combo's but my top end is mad crazy. I pull on z06's and v8's at the strip all the time. (not all of em guy's, dont get ecxcited ) i also have the DYNO flash for idle, so it's a great set up for me.

hmm...i kinda like a lumpy idle, is the idle flash needed? or is it just cause some people dont like the lumpy idle. im fine with it as long as it doesnt stall on me
