what is the main difference between the 264s and the 272s, speaking in terms of power. and also, valve springs and retainers are not necessary but could they be used as a precaution?
264's and 272's have the same lift as the stockers so lifters/retainers are a waste of cabbage. The only diff. among the cams is their duration (where in the rpm curve they make their power)...

i'm also in the market for some cams... There are a lot of threads already about them, but a good portion of them are not up to date. That was a good link to that AMS website with the dyno graphs, thanks.
choice depends on your future plans. Im running 272/272 ie and woulndnt have it any other way. I do alot of drag racing and plan on running a 20g upgrade. I cant speak for the other combo's but my top end is mad crazy. I pull on z06's and v8's at the strip all the time. (not all of em guy's, dont get ecxcited
