Edwin, I already opened a topic about your dyno. By the way a stock MR makes 214whp on the same dyno from what I can read here at this link:

http://evolutionmr.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=37

Let me go back and get the link..

Ray,

It is about time you log on man.. I want it to post your Dyno Numbers but I was not sure about all your mods. I saw your signature but I was not sure if you actually had any mods not mentioned..
I know that you made 316whp then 322whp and finally 348 whp but could you elaborate more?, Thanks

Carlos

WOW, bad news for Dynoflash? was it a MAIL IN flash or a custom fyno run? I am looking to use Al as I had some bad luck with TT. Great guy sbut never made the power I should have.

Custom road tune! If you want AL to tune you, make sure you do it on a dyno and can see the before/after results! If not, dont even bother throwing out 4 big ones!

The Biggest issue I have learned with a Dyno run, ESPECIALLY ON A DYNOJET, is that when you get tuned on this thing, you make big BIG power. Then as soon as you hit the street and pound the gas your car gets some real load on it and that tune you just got is now knocking and then your Ecu tends to pull back timing and it stays there.

I know this for a FACT becuase everytime I would get back on that dyno for a PAID retune, it would be 282, 290, I think once it was 301, but damn near 50WHP missing everytime. One run later, timing bumped back up, I get out on the street, BAM power is gone never to be found again. It is maddening.

4 Times I have been on a Dyno, my power range started at 322-333-342-347 in that order with full boltons and 272's EACH TIME I would hit the track my car would not break 108MPH, not a once. Then One day I decided to put in 112 Octane, bump the Boost to 27PSI or so and then lean the SAFCII out about 12-15%.\

Yep, 12.6 @ 109MPH.

I am fing pissed cuz I had to pay 3 outa the 4 times on that dyno to get flashed, not a one has held. Now Al does tunnign slightly different. I think he locks the Timing (where as mine is so retarded it should be riding the short bus as it passes my slow car) but makes it more rich so you get a nice smooth power curve.

I will try him, he has helped many in my situation and as long as you are patient with all he should tune a car the way you want it.

Damn I am still pissed at all that $$$$$$ wasted on poor tunes, my car has NEVER run as fast as it should have, it's topend is limited and I hate driving my car.

Edwin,

Remember my yellow WRX?, I had a UTEC on that car plus $6500 more dumped on the engine alone not including labor or tunning.

I took my car to the guys that has the most experience tunning WRX's , His name is Clark(AZscoobie) and he lives in Phoenix, in fact he works for Kingpinperformance in Phoenix.

I did my tunning at Dyno-comp for one and a half hours including doing all the AF ratios and all that. My car was only .4 sec faster at SIR track, that was after I did the turbo upgrade, so I spent:

$1100 on a turbo upgrade
$575 on the injectors
$100 on a fuel pump
$1050 on the UTEC plus remote switch
$270 for 1.5 hours for usage of Dyno-comp Dyno
$150 for 1.5 hours for Clark tunning
$350 labor for turbo swap and injectors

add all that and it is roughly $3600. so $3600 got me only .4sec faster once, remember , I only did one time a 13.266sec@104.32 pass on the wrx, I was doing 13.7 with stock turbo, no UTEC,no injectors , no fuel pump. I was hoping much more with the UTEC.

My tunning was done on 91oct and pushing 18PSI on the ported and polished FP18G turbo. I walked in dynoying a 211WHP and walked out with 280WHP.

Don't always think the UTEC is that great, my car ran like trash after the dyno tunning, the turbo lag was horrible(almost 5000rpms), and the car had no low end with the A/C on.

The botton line Edwin is that the UTEC might work better for you but don't hope to make much more power that what you have (I think).

I remember when we met the first time and you use to have the 03 EVO, we use to be very even, we drove a few miles pedal to the floor from aviation to Valencia.

Then after I did the upgrades(bigger turbo, UTEC injectors, tunning) we were in Ajo way and we gunned at 55MPH and I could bearly pass you, remember? all this thanks to the POS UTEC...
