You will be able to run them w/o any tune, but you won't feel the most power from them. I have been driving my car w/ all the mods below untuned and it still runs fine, just not as well as when tuned. Getting tuned next week

Mine idles like stock (850 rpm), can't tell the cams are in.
I bought used HKS cam gears.... didn't notice until after installation that one of the allen bolts was strippped ... been trying to figure out how to get the bolt out to replace it and retard timing...

I'd go with 264 or a 264/272 combo for autocrossing. I've ridden in EVO's with 264, 264/272 and straight 272's, and being an avid autocrosser myself i'm convinced on the straight 264 set up. Top end just doesnt get used enough to go that high
