the bigger cable attached but the small one that runs above it will not attach to the other piece. There are 2 pins on th epiece the smaller cable is supposed to attach to but the small cable wont reach either one.

Can anyone help me?

i tried in gear and out of gear....only the large cable moves when shifting

 

do you have a friend with you? Someone needs to pull on the cable while you shift slowly 1 through 5. this is to verify that the small cable moves too.

 

ya i do....the car will only shift into 1st 3rd and 5th.....this is killing me

 

and for what its worth....the car goes into gear BUT it easily can be slid out by moving the shifter around. Its like the shifter is free and theres isnt anything holding it in gear.

 

it look slike there are 3 points where cables should connect but there are ONLY 2 CABLES. There one swinging piece with two dowels....what goes on the other dowel?

 

hmm if it looks anything like my tranny there is a little plastic piece that sits between the dowel. If your only getting 3 gears there is a good chance you put the cables on backwards. Both cables are supposed to move, 1 may move more then the other but they both move.
