when it comes to bov's the hks is about the best out there...might not be easily compatible with the evo but theres things u can do to get it to work if it doesnt work when u put it on.

Ridiculous logic. THE EVO USES A MAF, WHICH MEANS YOU CANNOT VENT TO ATMOSPHERE. Get a BOV that costs half as much and that works PERFECTLY while recirculating.

why are you getting a bov? there is no power gain with an aftermarket one. the only reason you should want/need a BOV is if you are running more then stock boost or are worried about holding all the boost with the plastic piece we have. if that's the case then you have moded at least a few parts and should already know about BOVs. either way your answer lies within the search button. but you must have known that as you found out what BOV all the newbs want except you didnt even spell it right. pssssttt, its the HKS SSQV. to answer your question, you probably have surging problems, idle problems, boost problems. all of which can be tuned out, but why are you spending hundreds on a tune for a part that does not provide any performance gain. get a boost cotroller first at least.

First off how much boost are you running and how much do you want to spend. If running 20-21 psi go with a JDM MR bov and be done with it. Other wise I read that APS isnt that bad, toemi (sp?) and a few others...

just go with APS or Forge thos are solid pieces..seriously i am not trying to be a bastard but that HKS bov just isnt worth the time/effort and money..i dont know if it is because 2f2f but for some reason new ppl who get evos really just like getting VTA bov like the HKS and cold air intakes...the idea for getting a new bov is to hold better boost not to hear some stupid sound

im speaking in general....the hks is a great bov...just because it doesnt work perfect on every evo doesnt mean it sucks....plus i have read on this site that some people have absolutely no problems with this blow off valve....then some people in this thread are talking about you need to spend thousands on tuning to get it to run right? yah right....you can get the hks eids and have it set up for no more than 250 installed....then it seems like alot of people are hating on the vta idea...whats the big deal about enjoying the sound of a turbo and hearing the boost blow out? its something that sounds incredible and should be appreciated

With the VTA's you get poor MPG and the stalling issue. with a rec Valve you don't have to worry about that. if you want a good day to day driver get the Forge RS Valve and you get the best of both worlds, you can run it Rec day in and day out and when you want to go out and make some noise you just change up the Valve to VTA. but in the end it is up to you.

yah i got this huge money tree in my backyard...it comes in handy! im just saying with the hks ssbov its a great bov and holds boost like no other...a side benefit of it is it sounds GREAT....**** 2f2f...i had this bov way back on my 95 gst way back before any movies were even out.....no other bovs out there look or sound or perform like the hksssbov...yah it might take a lil bit of extra money for it to get working right but **** it...its only money and it will pay off.

I'm not surprised. I assume that you're running alky or race gas in order to push 24psi daily, too, right? What is a walburo fuel rail?

Anyway, you do need an aftermarket BOV, but you don't need the HKS SSQV by any means. The JDM MR DV is $120 and will work perfectly. There are others that will work perfectly, too, but cost $100 more.
