I thought the nut was not to be touched, that its set by HKS ( that is what i heard don't know if it is true or not).

Yea its great for daily driving and drag, my friend hasn't taken is car on a road course yet, so I can't say he has had problems with his HKS unit.

Dingo7, if you want the HKS unit and don't want any problems and save some money on not buying the EIDS, just recirculate the HKS and you will be fine.

Supposedly your not to touch it, but you pretty much have too. Mine was rolling around in the box when I got it. There was a thread along time ago with a letter from someone at HKS talking about never touching this thing. But the important thing to understand here, even if it was factory preset, what was it set too? What is the tension? Its not like they gave us something thats easy to tune or get right here. I spent a couple of days adjusting mine to get it to the point where it was at least somewhat driveable under part throttle.

It definitely will make your plugs black as hell to run VTA.

The EIDS is a good piece to have under a variety of circumstances. I'd say its well worth the $120 to anyone tuning their Evo. It helps compensate for bad tuning when your getting started. At least you won't stall all the way home!

Dude - some advice. Dont bother dicking around with BOVs that make cool noises. If you want sweet noises go get that $10 muffler insert that makes noises as if you have a turbo/bov. Or just do the logical thing and get a god damn JDM MR BOV for $100 like me, and hold the boost with 0 driveability issues, & you dont have to buy $150 electronic parts to make it work! Why buy anything else?

Yea, but id rather save $120, and just recirculate. Like is said my friend has a 04 evo with the HKS unit, he is recirculating and you can still hear it, not as loud as VTA but you can hear it.

I'm not trying to be mean, and tell someone not to run VTA. Everyone does what he/she likes, and that is fine with me. Actually i like the way VTA sounds, but recirculating is just fine with me.

its funny how people can ask for help, but then when we give them advice, they don't want to listen.
