Fully recirculated bov
Fully recirculated bov
I just ordered ets intake, dp, exhaust, test pipe and ic with piping. I have read that the factory bov works well. If I run a aftermarket bov 100% recirculated would it be louder than the factory bov with an intake? At what point will I need a aftermarket bov? This is my first turbo car so I am new to this and I am trying to do everything right. The car will be getting tuned right after the parts install btw.
I have the WORKS oem looking one and I gained +10/+5 by just swapping the stocker out and doing a dyno run. Drives like stock no issues bucking or anything. I had a synapse synchronic and tialqr previously and I got tired of messing around with the springs and different configurations.

To answer your question, yes. I have the turbosmart dual port on my ralliart. I have it set to approx. 70% recirc, and 30% atmosphere. The small amount of air released makes a very noticable difference in sound. It is literally the "pssshhh" sound when released. Also, i have 0 issues running it like this. I have tried full recirc as well, and noticed no difference, other than the sound. Driveability was the same. I am running 23 PSI on it and it holds great. Hope this helps.
Somewhat it will be louder, and that is only if you listen for it. On my old Evo 8, I was running a small 3071 with a Greddy, then Synapse or whatever it is called, because the Greddy was leaking under boost. When I let off the gas the sound was distinctually louder, and sounded different than the factory metal version. I have the X now, I am pretty sure if I did the same route I would hear a different release, but it is not enough to make heads turn full boost while re-circulating, have fun.
