272's or 20g?
As others have said it would definitely be wise to follow the usual upgrade path before you add a modified stock turbo. Cams are ideally matched to the application and the amount of air being moved. The stock cams become a major restriction over 21psi with the stock turbo, and when paired with a modified stock turbo (WR, 20g) this fact becomes even more prevalent.
Im presently running a WR on the stock cams, pump gas, at 22psi (which holds flat to redline). Ive enjoyed the gains in spool up, boost recovery, and stability but my car is pretty similar to a similarly modded stock EVO till about 5500, then the additional air the WR moves up top starts to come into play to and past 7500 rpm.
My reason for going with this upgrade path was to attain the advantages of the TME based internals and have a setup which will expand with time. My engine has never burnt a drop of oil and been 100% reliable. The idea of someone potentially destroying my engine with an improper cam install (or wearing the valvetrain) has caused me to hold back on swapping the cams, atleast for the timing being.
My plan for the coming months is to add alcohol injection and begin to run this turbo in its true efficiency range (24-28psi) and see where the car is then. If you're willing to break into the motor and have an installer you trust than 272s over the 20g for now is the way to go as you'll see broader gains across on pump gas. If you plan to run alcholol,meth, or race gas then you might want to consider testing out the 20g on a stock cam setup.

Absolutely. Simple procedure but if something is overlooked, it can be very costly. Thats why I did it myself and spent a whole day with it. Cams in your case will really give results.
