in any gear but 5th, i hear rattling of something when decelerating in high rpms, like above 4k. the car still runs fine but this sound makes me very uncomfortable.

 

could be the downpipe, do you have the tie bars reinstalled with spacers??

 

transfer case maybe?

 

could it possibly be your clutch/flywheel install? do you have aftermarket? Im not sure at all but I had this problem with my mr2 turbo and turned out to be the TOB.

 

yeah, but i had this problem before i did that. the rattling did get louder though. hmm...i'll try driving it without the tie bars to see if that's it.

 

It could be the Transfer case, mine did that, when I was in 5th gear like around 45 to 50 mph, it would start rattling real loud, I alos had a loud whine sound. I thought it was the exhaust but it turns out to be the trasfer case, I had it replace under warranty and now no more rattling or whining
