As you guys know we sell our parts individually or in our Staged upgrades. Our Staged upgrades offer more bang for the buck as we throw things in with the kits and offer better pricing when bought in a package.

Anyway, our Stage 2 kit includes our upper i/c pipe, you choice of upgraded BOV's, lightweight battery kit and our MAF pipe. The reason I am saying all this is I have dyno'd this package now quite a few different times. I have not dyno'd just the upper pipe, that's my point. The Stage 2 kit has consistently gained 15 whp, even on our MD AWD dyno. With NO additional tuning.

It is a combination of the 3 parts that gain this power but honestly any EVO that makes good power is about the "combination" used to put it together.

That Stage 2 also takes over 20 pounds of weight off the nose of the car.

As for an upper i/c pipe kit that doesn't require the small battery, they are out there and in my opinion they all suck. That's why I designed ours the way I did. There just isn't a good way to route the plumbing and leave the stock battery. Not sure why anyone would want to leave that huge battery there anyway.

Also, the 2G's gained power from the upper i/c pipe because the stock BOV's were crap. Another also, my 1g DSM didn't have a lightweight battery because 10 years ago when I had it there wasn't any. Also a 1g DSM didn't have any problems with intercooler plumbing being so twisted around like the EVO's do.
