Intercooler pipe upgrade for now, which?

Looking for an Intercooler pipe kit (used with stock IC), that i can later upgrade the IC its slef.
top 3 choices for me are:

1) AMS
2) Buschur
3) Nisei

Which of these pipe kits can be used with the stock IC, then later modified to their own IC.

Thanks

PS i want to keep my stock airbox, but i am going to get the MINI Battery.

You aint going to feel any difference by just swapping out the pipes. Why not just wait until you get a complete kit in the future when you do decide to purchase one. save your money now... its not worth it... if you get replacement pipes now that fit the stock IC, you have to make sure when you do get your intercooler the end tank holes would have to match

Wait, didn't you just get your car? You don't want to do this as your first and only mod, because it's not useful. You also don't want to upgrade the FMIC until you upgrade the turbo. You may want to sit back and re-think your mod path before buying anything, because tuners haven't even figured out what mods are best for the IX yet. So far, we have seen that flash tuners have figured it out to some degree and that exhausts still fit.

I'd go with the basics before worrying about IC pipes, which are not very helpful.

If you were going to upgrade the IC pipes I would go with Buschur (coming from personal experience)

I really don't think a LIP does anything for you without supporting mods. As an example I purchased the AMS pipe. For interests sake lent it to the local shop and they threw it on their stock MR and did before and after dyno runs. It actually lost power...

IMHO -- Unless you are running mods that improve airflow and boost such as a TBE you are wasting your money.

congrats on the car MR 600. First off if I was going to upgrade too, I would try the Helix kit my buddy has it on his 05 MR and it is nice. He has done ALL his work himself "an extensive build up". won driver of the year at his local club and builds cobra kit cars. He is very good he said for the price (300ish) quaity and fit helix is the way to go. I looked at the kit and he is right he had the manifold and hot side and front bumper off when I saw it. You wont go wrong with that kit.

Best of luck with your new car finish breaking it in before you start upgrading.

Nisie would be your best choice because it allows to use the stock air box and it has less bends then most aftermarket IC pipes, allows the Nisie intercooler is bad *** piece.

well like warr said....unless you get the FMIC at the same your just wasting your money. that is unless you just goin for looks and not preformance....besides there are other things out there you should look at getting fisrt. TBE or a cat back....intake or drop in filter. and then a good tune....

just my .02 correct me if i miss stated anything....only way to learn is to get corrected

my vote is the rvm kit. I really like the way they transition out of the turbo quickly, minimizing the pressure drop accross the smaller portion of the i/c piping.

I personally dont own this kit, so I dont know how well it fits. I just like how it's made.

As other people said, this shouldnt be your first mod or 2 with regards to increasing power! However, it's your car & do as you please!

Have fun

You dont really need ic pipe upgrades.. its just a waste of money... on my old ww evo i made 450+whp with stock upper ic pipes with no problems... use your money elsewhere

To get power from ic pipes you need the ones that require a smaller battery or battery relocation... if anything change the Lower Intercooler Pipe and/or FMIC First... my old br fmic came with lower ic pipes and i gained 20+whp from that swap alone.. untuned

Definitely not a good idea for one of your first mods. Id focus more on MBC, TBE, downpipe, boost guage etc. first. I also agree that if you do upgrade down the road, the upper is a better buy than the lower. But overall, not a bad idea in the future, even if you dont upgrade the fmic.

Just to be clear:

1) The term "TBE" includes the downpipe - they are not mutually exclusive

2) An LICP is a far better buy than a UICP - you got it backwards.

Thanks for the info guys.
Its not going to be my first mod. i am going to get a Boost Controller in a couple of days, and a TBE as soon as i have seen a few on more IX with them to make sure it fits ok. i am just going to order a few parts now and hold on installing them after i have broker her in.
A reflash is also on my list.

I did not want the IC core upgrade, because most likely i am going to stick with the stock turbo. so i just wanted to upgrade the pipes to gain as much power as i can from bolt ons. and i read many post that you doing gain much by upgrading the IC if u keep the stock turbo. My plan is to only go bolt-ons and keep the stock turbo and IC.

Show us where many posts said that you gain much by upgrading the IC pipes. Most of us say you DON'T gain from the upper IC pipes...just the lower ONE.

To get the most out of your stock turbo and FMIC, you need TBE/MBC/Tune/Cams/Alky/LICP. After that, consider a header and O2 housing.
