Boost leak on stock MR?!
Boost leak on stock MR?!
I'm pretty sure I'm not getting full boost anymore. Usually my car spikes close to the full 1.5 bar on the MR gauges and settles around 1.3 bar, but last night it was all the way down to 1.1 bar in some instances.
Has anyone else had boost leak problems on stock cars? What were the culprits? I'd rather not take it by the dealer if I don't have to. And exactly how many bars is 20 lbs? 1.3ish?

I wouldnt mess with taking it in to the dealer. Just to a boost leak test and find the problem that way. But I would install an intake while your at it, because taking off the stock intake and then putting it back together will prove to be a PTA
If you have no MBC, most likely leaking somewhere. If you have mechanical experience, create a contraption from hardwear store parts ($20) and do a test. Pressurize from right before the TB all the way to where it attaches to the turbo (all IC and recirculatinon plumbing) and make sure you make a tee to tap the psi into the BOV nipple to keep it closed (the BOV will leak a little so you may cap right before it too).
If you don't have mechanical experience you must bribe a friend.
If your all stock, go to the dealer (last result), but they may blow it off or do a halfass test and sign it off as good when it aint.
Good luck.
1 bar = 14.5 psi (I think, look it up) = one atmosphere, so 20/14.5 = 1.38 bar
