Limitations of the EVO 6.5 RS TME Turbo

I've searched this turbo and was only able to find 3 threads discussing it without very much valuable information.

What have people gotten out of this turbo and is it a good safe DIRRECT SWAP?

I'd be shooting for around 400-450whp (eventually, but not any time soon) with this turbo if I bought it.

Any advice appreciated

400whp (Dynojet numbers) are attainable with this turbo SO LONG as you have sufficient supporting hardware and ample tuning capability. The strengths of this turbo lie in its slightly larger hotside and the quick response of its lightweight Titanium wheel.

Since you have a 2005, I don't think a TME turbo upgrade would be worth it.

I have an '03 and it made a decent difference in power but I only bought the turbo because my stock one blew up.

As much as I would like to sell a TME turbo to everyone...I would say this turbo is only worth the money if you have an 03 and 04 with the smaller hotside. The main idea behind the titanium parts is to help spool up and not for huge power gain. However, I have notice the TME holds power better than the normal turbos. If you are looking for 400-450 whp on a Mustang dyno....you should look into a GT30 turbo.

is there anything thats a dirrect bolt on with good history behind it for longevity capable of hitting 400-450? (granted good tuning of course)

the tme will not offer any hp increase over any 10.5 equipted turbo, it will only spool faster. it has the same compressor as all the other evos sans 9. so it will suffer hte same power limitations and same boost taper issues.

for those number you're lookin' at a 3071.

you should also factor in those numbers on race gas or pump.
