Intake Manifolds?

I cant really decide whether to go with a Magnus Intake manifold or a Weapon R intake manifold. Any ideas?

That depends. Which GT series turbo are you running?

AMS is the manifold to have. Don't kid yourself, anything else is small potatos.

What makes the AMS manifold the best? It is priced competitively. Nobody has mentioned the JUN or the Kansai manifolds.

How much, if any, would the AMS manifold help with the stock turbo?

Magnus is the best time tested 1g and 2g.

Gains on the stock turbo will be anywhere from 10-20hp. A larger turboor stroker will give another 15-20hp. Also you would realize quicker spool and throttle response.

If on the stock turbo I would get the busher ported IM and Tb.

FWIW, the only tests I seem to recall clearly showed *slower* spool characteristics with the typical aftermarket intakes (probably due to the short runner length), and verifiable improvements only at very high rpm.

We have 2 different Intake Manifolds for the EVO. We have our 2.0 manifold an our 2.3/2.4 manifold. I would put ours up against anything else on the market as far as strength, reliability, power, fitment, etc. I do believe we are the only company that welds on our Intake manifolds on the inside for added strength an reliability.

So if I am running w/ ecutek, mbc and a tbe on the stock turbo, a manifold/tb doesn't need to be a top priority? I want to do cams soon, but saw a possible deal on a manifold. Should I wait till I upgrade to a larger turbo?

An aftermarket intake a priority? No, not even with a larger turbo.
