Oh yes the Saga continues.......
So i get home last night after the 45 mile drive and notice a slight ticking coming from the hood. I thought nothing of it and said ill check 1st thing in the morning. Well I get up and go warm up my car to inspect the noise, and there it is. I pop the hood and looked at the power streering pump pully, it has a bolt dislodged from the side and is being grinded by the pulley wheel of the power steering pump. I immediatley shut the car off and call the dealer. Guess what? They are closed Sat,Sun. So now I cant even start my car for feer of the bolt dislodging even more and getting caught in the pulley, and seazing it. Which in turn means i cant take it to the dealer who is 45 miles away. Now they are going to have to tow my car, or send someone up to replace the bent bolt.

Ok, Ok, right about.....NOW....... You can say i am complaining

Update: Does anyone happen to know the torque spec of this Bolt? Because hand tightend only gets you 40 miles (I apoligize but I have to be humorous, to keep from flipping out.)

look in the mirror.

I am a tech and if I gave a car back to a customer after doing thousands in warrenty work with a check engine light on I would get my *** reamed, and rightfully so. now it looks like the tech left bolts loose that caused other parts to be damaged and made the car undrivable. this isnt a matter of how much in free parts he got, he paid for those parts when he bought the car as did the rest of owners. Its a matter of being fixed correctly the first time and the inconvienence caused by a tech not paying attention to what he is doing. What happens when this guy leaves a caliper bolt loose or even better wheel bolts

It is a sad state of affairs when it becomes an unexpected event when a dealer honors the mfr warrenty and takes care of a customer.

to San Rafeal Mits for taking care of the engine
to the tech for leaving crap loose

Why not replace the bolt yourself?

If it was the easy trust me I would just replace the bolt myself...
#1 im not a mechanic so i dont have any tools
#2 I dont want to touch it and have Mits. say omg what did you do!
#3 it looks to me like you have to pull the whole pump out and pulley system, which i have no knowledge of doing.

I just cant wait to see what they say in the morning about getting it to them...
Ill keep posting..

I just got off the phone with my service manager, and he stated the car need to be towed down to them.. why it didnt happen to him on his 40 mile drive home is beyond me. Im dumb i should have checked for any noise's even before i left the dealer. Whne your on the freeway you cant really hear it becasue of the tires on the road. All i want is my car done correctly. I realize everyone makes mistakes,
The manager gave me a number to call for the towing company which who knows when it will get here.. if today.

Update: Picture of Bolt;above

Let me make this CLEAR...
In no way am i bad mouthing my DEALER or Service Mananger at San Rafeal Mitsu. I even stated how much respect we had for them.
They have tried their best to help me when i needed them. They just need to tighten these loose ends...
So who ever is checkinig up on these replies and responses should read them fully before informing people of disrespect towards them.

GG San Rafeal Mitsu.

The Technician just left my house and took care of it very quickly! I am so thankful for their help in resolving this issue and saving me the trip down to them again. Like i stated previously we have nothing but good things to say about this Dealership and its Service. It was just one of those unfortunate things, that was taken care of promptly by them. I highly recommend them to anyone and will still continue to do buisness with them! .

honeslty I think that it is good that you didnt touch the bolt... yes you probably could have fixed it... but I know with Jiffy Lube often times if a customer messes with the car than the company isn't liable anymore..
